Meet The Team
Our team of amazing staff are always on hand to make sure you enjoy every aspect of your Cornish Adventure. We focus on three things; firstly to ensure that you are safe on our activities, secondly to help you kit up and use all of our equipment safely and of course to make sure you have the most fun possible on every session with us! Henry
Henry has been part of the Cornish Adventure team from the beginning, enjoying his outdoor activities from an early age Henry knows a lot about the local area where Cornish Adventure operates. He has been running surf lessons on Polzeath beach since 2012 and will help you to get the most of your Cornish Surfing lessons with the tips and hints he has picked up over his career.
Henry knows the Camel estuary like the back of his hand having grown up paddling both the lower and higher reaches of the estuary with the local surf life saving club. Using his knowledge Henry and Coll were able to develop Cornish Kayaking trips that use the tides to provide a great journey down river to the Doombar or up river to the wildlife haven of Bishops Woods.
Henry has been exploring the coastline of Cornwall for many years, using his knowledge and love of the sea Coll and Henry have developed Cornish Coasteering. Cornish Coasteering is a great way to see the coastline in a whole new way and doing it with Henry means you will be pushed to go to new heights and explore dark caves all while feeling safe and excited!
Coll
Coll has worked on, in and around the water all of his working life. As a beach lifeguard from an early age he developed many key skills needed for the activities he now provides. Working on yachts developed an attention to detail and team working was essential in a close environment. As an overseas adventure guide he was responsible for the well being and safety of groups that were in unfamiliar surroundings. Working in outdoor pursuits at home and away eventually led to the formation of this Cornish Adventure.
Henry began working with Coll right at the set up of the business and became the a right hand man. After a few years they decided to run things together and now Cornish Adventure continues to grow from strength to strength as a partnership.
The master plan for this season includes expanding our Coasteering and Kayaking routes. Adding private and small group surf lessons to our offering and growing a Surf Hire outlet alongside our offering.
Charlie
Charlie has been on the team for a while now. He first came to us on work experience whilst completing his degree in Outdoor Education at Plymouth in 2016. We quickly realised he was pretty handy in the water and offered him his dream job at Cornish Adventure!
He’s a very enthusiastic and positive instructor who will help you make the most of one of our Cornish Adventures.
Gracie
Gracie’s laugh is infectious and she is full of positivity which rubs off on our groups and team! She came to us as a surf instructor looking for more adventures and fell in love with Coasteering, Kayaking & Surfing instructing and the varied work life this entails.
She is now ready for another season full of laughs, good vibes and Cornish Adventure!
Harry
Harry loves to surf and loves to travel, he has many a story to tell of adventures both at home and away! Harry is on his 5th season working with us now and he splits his working week between Beach Lifeguarding at Polzeath and running activities for us.
He is an experienced lead Coasteer guide and Surf Coach as well as a kayak instructor!
Ollie
Ollie has done multiple full seasons with us and is signed up for more this year! It suits him well as he can save to surf and travel in the winter, this boy is living the dream!
He is an experienced and enthusiastic surf coach and is qualified to lead our coasteering and kayaking tours. He is a valued team member that can be relied on to make sure customers have a great time!
Laura
Laura was our rookie last season but she learnt quickly coming from a strong watersports background. A student from Newcastle she is familiar with Cornwall, having been coming here since childhood.
She is back for another season and looking to expand her qualifications and experience with us. We are very happy to have her on the team!
Angus
Angus has worked part time for Cornish Adventure for a number of years alongside his job as a beach lifeguard with the RNLI. He has now decided to live the dream full time. Angus has a lot of experience in and around the water starting in his Surf Life Saving career and throughout his job at the RNLI.
Angus is Henry’s brother as Henry likes to point out “his younger and uglier brother” but even Henry admits that Angus is a great instructor and will help keep you safe and full of excitement throughout your Cornish Adventure.
James
James is an all around waterman and enjoys sharing this skill and knowledge with our groups. He has been involved with Cornish Adventure for a few seasons now and after being full time with us last summer he is returning for the season ahead. He is a solid all rounder with a big appetite for adventure! With this photo he is often our Cornish Adventure poster boy too, with Harry and Charlie seen in the background!
Amber
Amber has been with us for two summers now and we hope she will be back for more! She is currently a student at Falmouth so her helping us out in our busiest times during the holidays is a great help in peak season. She came to us as a Surf Coach who was enthusiastic about cliff jumping and enjoys everything to do with the water so she quickly became involved in our Coasteering and kayaking sessions too. Amber is friendly and approachable and a great asset to our team!
