Join us for an unforgettable Cornish Kayaking Adventure!

We have two types of Cornwall Kayaking tours for more info click on the tabs below:

We always start our Cornwall Kayaking low tide tours at our base on Dinham Farm, from here we get kitted up ready to rock and roll before hopping into the big blue bus down to Porthilly Cove. From here we have a short lesson on the beach before jumping on the kayaks and practicing some moves on the water.

From Porthilly Cove we start heading down river with the tide behind us, taking in some beautiful views as we go. Upon reaching the first stop along the way we have a rest stretch our legs and for those who are keen a quick swim. Heading further downstream we slowly make our way towards the mouth of the Estuary and the infamous Doombar! Our instructors will point our historical landmarks and all the fascinating sea life along the way. When the tide begins to turn we take our essential hot chocolate stop before heading back towards Porthilly.

Our low tide route is a great way to gain a different view of this exceptional seascape and learn about all the goings on in the local area from our knowledgeable staff. Find our low tide sessions available via the big yellow button we will see you soon!

Our Instructor Henry enjoys punching through some waves on the Doombar!!!

We always start our A to B kayaking tours at Dinham Farm. After suiting up we either take a leisurely stroll down the road to Dinham Creek or take the big blue bus to Porthilly Cove.

These sessions use the incoming or outgoing tides to help us paddle the middle length of the beautiful Camel Estuary.

On the incoming tide we start at Porthilly Cove. After a quick lesson on the beach we start by heading through the start of the Porthilly Shellfish Farm learning about this key industry located on the Camel Estuary. Cruising along the banks of Gentle Jane we often stop for a rest and swim, enjoying the views across the river of the Iron Bridge and the sights of Padstow town.

As we head further upstream we enter an AONB and wildlife protection area here we have a good chance at spotting a flotilla of Swans, a gaggle of Geese, flock of oyster catchers, the occasional Grey Heron as well as the spectacular diving Shag or Commorant.

Our last stop is normally opposite the old Slate quarry at Penquean we will enjoy some tasty hot chocolate before setting off on the last leg to Dinham Creek. Then at the end of the session we stroll back to Dinham Farm. What an amazing adventure!!!

Our downstream session is very similar but in reverse! You can book your kayaking adventure with us now by clicking the big yellow button and selecting an A to B kayak tour. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Had an amazing time kayaking, so much fun and learnt lots. The guides were so kind and friendly, Henry and Coll. The hot chocolate, tea and biscuits were a nice touch to the whole experience. Very Covid-19 friendly, face coverings are provided along with hand sanitizer.

Thoroughly recommend. Will be back next year!!  So thank you for a brilliant experience πŸ™‚

Excellent Afternoon

Visiting Cornwall for the first time and wanted to find something different to do to keep three teenage boys entertained. None of us had ever kayaked before, but thought we’d give it a go. I have to say, one female member of the party was extremely nervous, but Charlie and the team broke the ice by informing the lads (after great efforts) that they’d put their wetsuits on back to front(!), which gave us all a great laugh and put everyone at ease.

The team ensured we had a really excellent afternoon, despite us being beginners and every single one of our party of seven enjoyed it. We felt safe at all times and did remarkably well kayaking right along the estuary and back, whilst enjoying the stunning views and history of the area. Thanks lads for a great time, would definitely do it again!

Cracking Kayaking

The guys did everything to ensure that we had an absolutely fabulous day. Set up was straightforward and all the kit was in great condition. In the van for the short ride and we were treated to some Fisherman Friends sea shanties to get us in the mood. Some solid basic training and we were off with the ebbing tide towards Padstow, Rock and Doom bar.

The guys built in a few stops which really helped as we were novice kayakers, and in the stops they gave us some insight and history for our surroundings. We also had a little game followed by hot chocolate and cookies, and plenty of dips in the river. Back with the turning tide and some great banter. We had a fab time and can highly recommend this – we’ll definitely go again next time we visit.

Fantastic day out kayaking on the Camel Estuary

My husband and I had a wonderful kayak trip with Coll and Charlie. The equipment was of a very high standard and the paddle along the Camel Estuary was fun with amazing views. We had loads of fun and a few stop-offs for a swim and the (optional) capsize practice (much to the chagrin of my husband!)

We had delicious hot chocolate and biscuits at one stop and had an amazing last day of our holiday. We highly recommend booking your kayak trip with Cornish Kayaking.
